1500 Fox Ridge, Subject shot

Subject shot 1500 Fox Ridge Dr, suspect in custody

Kalamazoo, MI: On Wednesday October 9th, 2019 at about 11:30PM, officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to several reports of shots fired in the 1500 block of Fox Ridge Dr. During the calls, a suspect description was provided and a responding officer located the suspect fleeing on foot Near Douglas Ave and W Paterson St. The suspect was arrested after a short foot pursuit resulting in the recovery of a firearm. A vehicle then arrived at a local hospital with a victim inside with 2 gunshot wounds, those injuries do not appear to be life threatening. A search of that vehicle led to the recovery of a second firearm and the arrest of a subject that had an outstanding warrant. As a result of this investigation a 24 year old Kalamazoo man is in custody for the incident facing charges related to the shooting and possession of a firearm. Another 24 year old Kalamazoo man is also in custody on a warrant and charges related to the handgun located inside the vehicle.
