Armed Home Invasion

October 7, 2019 by Matt Schemenauer

On October 7, 2019 at approximately 11:45p.m. the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the 1500 block of Lafayette Ave in reference to a home invasion that had just occurred.  The resident was forced into his residence at gunpoint by two suspects.  The suspects then held the victim at gunpoint while they stole several items from the residence.  The suspects fled in a vehicle, described as a light green SUV, in an unknown direction.

The suspects are described as two black males with a skinny build, wearing jeans and gray hooded sweatshirts.  One of the suspects’ faces was covered with a blue bandana.  Both were estimated to be in their late twenties to early 30s.   Several items, mostly electronics, were stolen.  Officers searched the surrounding area but the suspects have not yet been located.

Anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100
