Stolen Vehicles located and Suspects arrested

July 13, 2019 by Scott Smith

Kalamazoo, MI:
On July 13, 2019 just after 7:00am KDPS was dispatched to the 1600 and 1700 blocks of Knollwood Ave for reports of two apartments that had been broken into. Two vehicles along with additional property were stolen. Investigating officers followed up on leads and eventually located one of the vehicles with two suspects inside it in the 400 block of N. Edwards. The location of the second stolen vehicle was determined after speaking to the suspects.
Both vehicles, as well as property stolen from inside the apartments, were returned to the rightful owners. The two adult suspects were arrested on multiple charges and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
Along with recovering property belonging to these victims, additional property was also recovered that is believed to be evidence of additional theft crimes, not yet reported to police.
KDPS would like to remind residents and visitors to keep valuables out of site and out of vehicles. Also, always lock and secure property and homes. If any suspicious activity is observed, contact your local police agency.
Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Public Safety at (269) 337-8120, or Silent Observer at (269)343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
