Suspicious Death Investigation

On November 14, 2018 officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to the report of an unresponsive child at a residence in the 1200 block of Summit Avenue. Officers arrived at the home and located a 7 month old child who was not breathing and did not have a pulse. Resuscitation efforts were conducted and the child was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital, but despite life saving efforts the child was ultimately pronounced dead.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety wishes to offer its condolences to the family and friends who have been impacted by this loss.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of this child and asks that anyone having information regarding this incident please contact us at 337-8139 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
