Fatal Motor Vehicle-Pedestrian Accident

October 13, 2018 by Michael Skurski

Kalamazoo, MI:  On Friday, October 12, 2018, at 10:08 p.m., Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of West Michigan Avenue and Kenbrooke Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive 40-year-old female lying in the roadway with severe injuries.  Life-saving measures were attempted, but the female succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  It was determined the victim was struck by two different vehicles while crossing the street.  Both vehicles remained on scene, and alcohol-use by the drivers of the vehicles was not believed to be a factor in the accident.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at 269-337-8994, or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
