Kalamazoo, MI: On Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at approximately 9:08 a.m., Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to a report of shots fired in the intersection of Vernon St and Elgin St. Responding officers determined that a lone male suspect appeared in the area and fired six shots from a handgun in the direction of a subject walking on Vernon St. After the shots were fired, the suspect and intended target fled the scene on foot. A Kalamazoo Public Safety K9 was called in to track the suspect. The suspect was not located and it is believed he left in a vehicle parked nearby.
At this time, no suspect(s) has been arrested. Kalamazoo Public Safety continues to investigate the incident. No further information is available at this time.
