Three arrested, 2 handguns seized

Kalamazoo, MI: On July 12th, 2018 at about 10:00P.M. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers were conducting surveillance in the 1400 block of Fox Ridge when they became aware of subjects brandishing handguns. The subjects entered a vehicle and began leaving the complex when officers made contact with them. After the four occupants of the vehicle were detained, a handgun was located at the feet of one of the occupants with a second loaded handgun located on their person. One firearm had reported as a stolen handgun, with the second gun being unregistered. As a result of this investigation, a 19 year old Kalamazoo man and a 17 year old Kalamazoo man were both arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. In addition, a 20 year old Kalamazoo man was arrested on unrelated charges. This case is still under investigation and additional charges will be requested.

Anyone who has information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
