200 Richard Ave, Subject shot entering a home

Kalamazoo, MI: On Tuesday, July 10th, 2018 at approximately 7:51 P.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to multiple reports of a subject that had been shot in the 200 block of Richard Ave. Upon arrival officers located a conscious 46 year old male that had sustained a gunshot to the torso area. The Kalamazoo man was transported to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. The subject that shot the male approached officers on scene and is cooperating with the police. The initial investigation indicates that the gunshot victim was breaking into a home when the occupant shot him. Kalamazoo Public Safety is continuing to investigate this incident, at this time there is no outstanding suspects or threat to the public related to this.
