Princeton and Drexel, Shots Fired

Kalamazoo, MI:

Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is investigating two reports of shots fired that occurred overnight, both in the area of Princeton Avenue and Drexel Place.

The first incident was reported on Wednesday June 13th at about 10:20pm when a 24 year old Kalamazoo resident arrived at a local hospital with a single gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was unable to provide the exact location of where the incident had occurred but stated he was seated on the porch of a home near Princeton Avenue and Drexel Place when a white sedan drove past and fired several rounds at him striking him in the leg. He is in stable condition.

The second incident occurred on Thursday June 14th at 1:20am when officers were conducting an investigation in the area and heard multiple shots fired near Princeton Avenue and Drexel Place. Multiple officers responded and located a vehicle that had been shot several times. A 27 year old Kalamazoo resident stated that he had been seated in the vehicle when he was shot at. The victim was not struck by any of the gunfire.
