1700 Golfview House Fire

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On May 24, 2018, at approximately 5:36 p.m., Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Golfview regarding a structure fire where smoke and flames were visible from the exterior.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to the area and located several residents who had exited the multi apartment dwelling. Officers entered the affected apartment controlled the room and contents fire within minutes and extinguished all hot spots shortly thereafter.

All three (3) apartments of the dwelling received smoke and/or water damage; however the fire was contained to a single bedroom within one of the apartments. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
