Woodbury Ave Shooting

Kalamazoo, Michigan:  On Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at approximately 10:44 p.m., officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety and the Michigan State Policeresponded to the 800-block of Woodbury Ave. regarding a subject that had been shot.  Officers in the area reported hearing gunshots, and moments later received a report of subject that had been shot.  Officers located a 21-year-old Kalamazoo resident with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.  The victim was transported to the hospital where he received medical treatment, and was released.

A subsequent investigation of this incident determined that the suspect had fired at the victim outside of the residence, and then fired additional rounds into the occupied residence.  The suspect has not been identified at the time of this report but theinvestigation is ongoing.
