HOUSE FIRE

Kalamazoo, MI: Saturday, April 7, 2018 at approximately 143 p.m. Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to a structure fire in the 700 block of S Burdick. Upon arrival, there was heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the residence and had made it into the attic. An exterior attack with the ladder truck knocked the flames down which allowed an interior team to gain entry. Due to the fire being in the attic; various voids; and wind, it took approximately 4 hours to extinguish.

A resident was home at the time of the fire and able to escape with his pets safely. No firefighters were injured and the Red Cross was notified.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
