Call leads to multiple arrests, drugs and firearm located

February 9, 2018 by Kalamazoo Public Safety

Kalamazoo, MI: On February 8, 2018, at approximately 10:00pm, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 100-block of Albany Street regarding a dispute at the residence. While officers were approaching, it was reported that a subject outside the residence was in possession of a firearm. Officers contacted three subjects in a vehicle in the driveway and recovered a loaded rifle and additional ammunition on one of the occupants. Information was obtained that a subject with a multi count felony warrant was inside the home leading officers to investigate further. Several other subjects were contacted at the home and it was learned that the wanted subject had fled on foot.

As officers checked the area, the suspect was recognized walking down the road near Fairview Street and S Rose. As he was contacted by the officer, the wanted subject dropped suspected meth and marijuana on the ground and was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of this investigation a 26-year-old Kalamazoo man was charged with multiple weapon related offenses, a 38-year-old Gobles man was charged with a multi-count felony drug warrant with additional charges of possession of meth and marijuana and a third male was charged with an outstanding warrant. All were lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100
