Kalamazoo, MI: Recently the Kalamazoo Department of Public safety has seen an increase in criminals targeting seniors for financial crimes.
These perpetrators are specifically targeting seniors at retirement housing and assisted living locations. They are posing as a bank employee or representative, requesting credit card or bank account information and promising lower interest rates and other incentives for the information.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is currently investigating several incidents of this type and is collaborating with surrounding agencies with similar circumstances.
