Kalamazoo, MI: On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at approximately 12:30 P.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to the 700 block of W. Michigan on the report of a stabbing that occurred in a hotel lobby restroom. Upon arrival, Officers were directed to a restroom where a woman was found in possession of a sharp object.
An investigation revealed that the woman was not a customer of the hotel. The woman had walked in and began eating food reserved for guests. When confronted by one of the employees, she assaulted him. A struggle ensued where a hotel fixture was broken. The woman then used a piece of the broken fixture to cut a second employee. The employee suffered non-life threatening injures and was treated at a local hospital.
The woman was identified as a 30 year old Kalamazoo resident. She was arrested for felonious assault, assault and battery as well as an outstanding arrest warrant.
