Single Motor Vehicle Accident

June 23, 2017 by Kalamazoo Public Safety

On June, 23, 2017, at approximately 12:32 pm, Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to a report of a single motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, it was determined that the vehicle had been traveling westbound on Mt. Olivet, when it left the roadway, crossed Riverview Dr., went through a parking lot, struck a building, and then hit a tree. The driver of the vehicle was found to be unresponsive and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The 83 year old Kalamazoo County resident was transported to the hospital by Life EMS. She is currently listed in critical condition. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation; however, alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Anyone have information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100
