Kalamazoo, MI: On April 16, 2017, at approximately 9:00 A.M. Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers observed a suspicious vehicle in a hotel parking lot in the 3800-block of E Cork St. The occupied vehicle was found to be stolen out of Kalamazoo County’s jurisdiction. During the investigation officers were able to determine a location of second stolen vehicle. This second stolen vehicle was recovered near Lake St and Olmstead Rd and was stolen out of the City of Kalamazoo.
As the investigation progressed, around 4:00 P.M. the same day, officers were able to locate the suspect of all three motor vehicle thefts near S Westnedge Ave and E Cork St. During the arrest of the suspect a third stolen vehicle was recovered. The suspect, a 22-year-old male, was arrested without incident. The suspect was arrested on several warrants. Various charges, including motor vehicle theft, are being sought against the suspect.
