Tree Falls on Motorist

Kalamazoo, MI:  On Thursday March 6, 2017, at about 6:53 pm, Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to a report of a large tree branch that had fallen on a vehicle, injuring its passengers. Upon arrival, officers encountered a massive tree branch covering the entire roadway. Several vehicles were backed up in both directions as citizens tried to move the tree from the roadway.

The first arriving officer made contact with the two injured occupants of the victims’ vehicle.  Both subjects were alert and conscious.  The driver sustained minor injuries to his hand and was able to exit the vehicle without assistance.  The passenger was extricated from the vehicle and treated for non-life threatening injuries at a nearby hospital.

Anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
