Death Investigation

Kalamazoo, MI:  On Friday, April 7, 2017, at approximately 6:38a.m., Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 400 block of  N. Westnedge Ave reference an unconscious male found on the KVRT bike path.  Upon arrival officers located a male on the ground, unresponsive.  Officers quickly determined the male was deceased.  No signs of trauma were observed.  The name of the 44 year old Kalamazoo resident is being withheld until family notification has been made.  Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division were called to the scene to assist with this investigation.

The incident is still under investigation and the exact cause of death will not be known until an autopsy is performed.  Kalamazoo Public Safety would like to extend our condolences to the family.
