Alcohol and Speed Factors in Crash

April 6, 2017 by Jon Thurn

Kalamazoo, MI:  On April 6, 2017, at about 12:10 A.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the report of a single car accident at E. Michigan Avenue and Kings Highway.  The reporting party also advised that two people were lying on the ground.

Responding officers located the vehicle on the sidewalk with heavy damage.  Two women, the driver and passenger, were found on the ground immediately outside the vehicle and were given medical aid.  The women were transported to Borgess by Life for medical treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The intersection of E. Michigan Avenue and Kings Highway was closed for a short time to allow for rendering aid and investigating the crash.

Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash.  This crash remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
