Two suspects arrested for armed robbery

March 16, 2017 by Kalamazoo Public Safety

Kalamazoo, MI: On March 11th, 2017 at approximately 18:43 hours, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers were dispatched to the Hungry Howies, 3036 Portage Rd, regarding an armed robbery that had occurred. Upon arrival, officers found that a male threatened the manager, advising he was a victim of an armed robbery the night before, and the pizza delivery guy was the suspect. The victim told the manager he was staying at the Motel 6 on Vanrick, and wanted his money back. The victim had not called the police to report the robbery.

Officers responded to the Motel 6 to confirm the alleged robbery had occurred. The victim described the assailant as being the same guy who had delivered pizza to him about (3) three hours prior to the robbery. Officers were able to develop probable cause after speaking with the victim and the manager of Hungry Howies.

Several officers from the Operations Division, C.O.P.S. Division, and the Criminal Investigation Division were able to locate and arrest Alonzo Jawaun Wink, 23 year old male from the Flint area, for the robbery.

Detectives continued to investigate the robbery, developing another suspect. Donqueal Levon Turner, 18 year old male from Kalamazoo, was arrested on March 15th, and arraigned on the 16th for the robbery. This investigation is continuing as there was a third individual involved with this robbery.

Anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
