Citizen robbed at gunpoint on W Vine St

Kalamazoo, MI: On Monday February 27, 2017, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Kalamazoo Pubic Safety Officers were dispatched to a report of a subject being robbed in the 300 block of W. Vine. The victim stated an unknown male walked up behind him and robbed him at gunpoint. The suspect stole the victim’s cell phone and keys and fled the area on foot. Officers conducted a thorough search for the suspect, including the use of a police K9; however, no suspect was located.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 6’3-6’4 in his late 20s, to early 30s. He was believed to be wearing a black jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt, and dark colored pants. He was armed with an unknown style handgun. The suspect is still at large as of this time.

Kalamazoo Public Safety is still investigating this incident, checking surveillance footage in the area. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
