Kalamazoo, MI: On Friday February 24, 2017, at 12:21 p.m. Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 200 block of W. Dutton St. to investigate an Armed Robbery. A 22 year old Kalamazoo woman reported leaving an area bank and being followed by an unknown male. When the woman reached the 200 block of W. Dutton St. the male ran up pointing a pistol at her. Then the male ordered her to the ground. The male stole the woman’s wallet before fleeing on foot southbound on S. Rose St.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’1” with an athletic build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants, black tennis shoes with white trim and a blue medical style mask covering his face. A Kalamazoo County Sheriff Department K-9 was called to the scene to assist but was unable to locate the suspect.
