No children injured in accident involving two school buses

February 6, 2017 by Kalamazoo Public Safety

Kalamazoo, MI: On, February 6, 2017 at approximately 08:47am in the morning KDPS was dispatched to a personal injury accident involving a school bus at the intersection of Whites Rd and Bronson Blvd. Rescue and Police personnel quickly responded. Upon arrival it was determined that there were two vehicles involved in the accident; both of the vehicles were school buses.

The only occupant of each bus were the drivers, there were no children on either of the buses. One bus had minor damage. The other bus had considerable front end damage after it collided with a utility pole. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries; the other was uninjured.

The utility pole that was struck as a result of this accident sustained damage and will need to be repaired. This will result in minor traffic delays. Additionally, the intersection’s traffic signal lost power as a result of the accident and will likely not work for the rest of the day. It is requested that drivers use extra caution at this intersection throughout the day.

Kalamazoo Public Safety would like to thank everyone for their patients as public safety personnel and the utility company work to repair the damage caused during this incident.

This incident is still under investigation, anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
