Two in custody following the recovery of a stolen auto

KALAMAZOO, MI: On January 5, 2017, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Dan Boglitsch was patrolling the downtown area when he observed a BMW that had recently been stolen during a home invasion. Upon attempting to catch up to the vehicle, the occupants quickly parked the car in the 600 block of Academy and attempted to walk away. Contact was made with the subjects, and during an investigation, more stolen items were located on both subjects from the same home invasion that involved the vehicle.

As a result of this investigation, a 43 year old Kalamazoo man was charged with 2 felony counts of possession of stolen property and a 43 year old Kalamazoo woman was charged with 2 outstanding warrants along with possession of a stolen auto.
