Two children injured in hit and run accident

November 29, 2016 by Spencer Bridges

Kalamazoo, MI: On Tuesday November 29, 2016 at approximately 6:11 PM, Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to a report of a personal injury accident where two children had been struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival officers found a 3 year old and 5 year old who had, both, been struck by a vehicle. The victims were given immediate medical attention and were then transported to Bronson Hospital by Life Ambulance. The victims, who were accompanied by a parent, were crossing Race street when a vehicle that was heading eastbound on Egleston Avenue, struck them and fled the scene. The 3 year old is listed as stable and the 5 year old is in critical condition.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older style mini-van that is darker in color, possibly brown. The suspect vehicle was last observed leaving the scene, eastbound on Egleston Avenue. Officers are currently on scene investigating.

Anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
