Child injured in possible accident

November 7, 2016 by Spencer Bridges

Kalamazoo, MI: On 11-5-2016, at approximately 2004 hours, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 1300 block of March Street in reference to a personal injury accident. Upon arrival officers located a 6 year-old Kalamazoo resident down on the street. The driver of the vehicle, a 26 year old female, was attempting to leave a house in the area when it is believed the child attempted to enter the car on the passenger side of the vehicle. Just prior to leaving the home, the child had mentioned that they wanted to leave with the driver. The driver informed to the child, whom is not related, to stay at the home. It appears the driver was unaware the child followed her to her vehicle. The child was injured in an unknown manner and was transported by Ambulance to Bronson Hospital. The child is currently in Critical, but stable condition. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating in this investigation. Officers are still investigating the incident and there are no further details at this time.

Anyone with information about this accident is encouraged to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent observer, 343-2100, www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
