Man Shot, Minor Injuries

October 19, 2016 by Jon Thurn

Kalamazoo, MI: On Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 at approximately 1:20 a.m., Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to the Déjà Vu nightclub on a report of multiple gun shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers were told by witnesses that two black males had been arguing and one of the subjects had fired several rounds at the other in the parking lot in front of the business.  The suspect and victim had left the scene prior to officer’s arrival. Officers located evidence of the shooting at the scene.

A short time later, a male arrived at Bronson Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.  The victim was a 37 year old male with non life threatening injuries.  The victim was not cooperative in the Police investigation.  The investigation is ongoing and appears to be related to a fist fight that occurred prior to the shooting between the victim and the unknown suspect.  The suspect is described as a black male in his early to mid 20’s, a beard and seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.  He was last seen leaving the area of the Déjà vu in a dark colored sedan with two other occupants.

Anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
