Kalamazoo, MI: On October 13, 2016, at about 9:20 PM, a Public Safety Officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on S. Park Street and Ranney Street. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer could smell marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. A Public Safety K9 responded to the scene and conducted a “sniff” of the vehicle. The K9 gave a positive signal indicating that drugs were likely present.
Officers searched the vehicle and located three large zip-lock style bags containing marijuana. Officers also located electronic scales and a box of sandwich bags commonly used as a packaging material.
The suspect, a 28 year old Kalamazoo resident, was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on a charge of Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana.
