Update: Shooting suspect arrested

September 21, 2016 by Kalamazoo Public Safety

On Tuesday September 20, 2016, a Kalamazoo resident, Jerry Jamare Tyson, 03/16/97 was arraigned on the following charges: 3 counts of felony firearm, carrying a concealed weapon (CCW), assault causing great bodily harm, discharging a weapon from a vehicle and felonious assault.

We would like to remind citizens of the fast 50 program, if anyone gives a tip to an officer of someone in possession of guns and or drugs and the person is found in possession, they will be given $50. This is a perfect way to make some money and make the community safer. Only through collaboration can we stop gun violence.

Anyone having information regarding this incident or other gun crimes is asked to contact Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at (269) 337-8994 or Silent observer at (269) 343-2100 or online at www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
