Update: Injured man found on W Michigan Ave

September 20, 2016 by Kalamazoo Public Safety

The victim in this case has died as a result of his injuries. He has been identified as George Ralph Carlisle, 01/26/58, a Kalamazoo resident. We send our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Carlisle.

Through a thorough investigation by officers and detectives, a person was identified as a suspect in this assault and has been spoken to in regards to this case. The suspect, also a Kalamazoo resident, was arrested on other unrelated charges. A case for involuntary manslaughter will be requested through the Prosecutor’s Office. If charges are issued and the suspect is arraigned, his name will then be released.

We do not have the autopsy report, however, complications from blunt force trauma is a contributing factor. It will take 6-8 weeks for the autopsy report to be completed.

Anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
