Kalamazoo, MI: On 9-17-16 the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety received a call advising that a male subject had been stabbed. Officers responded to the 1400 block of N. Park Street where they located the victim who was suffering from non-life threatening stab wounds. The victim, a 42 year- old Kalamazoo man, reported that he had been stabbed by his girlfriend who was currently at a residence in the 400 block of W. Frank Street. The victim sought medical treatment on his own.
Officers responded to the Frank Street location and found evidence of an assault. Officers attempted contact at the residence. Officers observed a female inside matching the description of the suspect. This person quickly disappeared out of the view of officers, going further into the residence.
Officers maintained security of the house while they applied for a search warrant. A search warrant was obtained to search the residence, and arrest the suspect. During the execution of the search warrant a 36 year- old female was arrested for Felonious Domestic Assault. The female Kalamazoo resident was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail and is currently awaiting arraignment.
