Single Car Hit and Run

August 31, 2016 by Spencer Bridges

Kalamazoo, MI: On, August 31, 2016, at approximately 4:12 a.m., Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to a report of a vehicle that was smoking near the intersection of E Michigan Ave and Mills St. Upon arrival officers located a four door sedan with significant front end damage; the vehicle was not smoking. There were no occupants located in the vehicle or on scene. Attempts to locate occupants of the vehicle were made, including the use of a police canine, but no occupants were located. A light post and guard rail were damaged during this incident.

It is apparent the vehicle was east bound on E Michigan Ave approaching Mills St when the vehicle lost control, crashing into the light post and guard rail on the east side of the road before coming to a stop. The cause of the accident is unknown and is under investigation.

Anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
