Update: Unidentified Injured Man Found

***Injured Man Identified***

On August 7th, 2016, at about 7:43 am, Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to an unresponsive male in the 1200 block of E. Alcott St. The male was taken to Bronson Hospital where he remained in critical condition. He has since passed away, approximately 18:50pm on August 8th, 2016. He is being identified as, Gerardo Santiago Martinez. Mr. Martinez is a 48 year old from Mexico. An autopsy is being performed today, with the results coming in 6-8 weeks. The investigation is on-going at this time.

Kalamazoo, MI: On August 7th, 2016, at about 7:43am, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of E. Alcott St regarding a man found bleeding from the head.  The unresponsive man is believed to be between 35-45 years old.  He was transported to Bronson Hospital where he is in critical condition.

boots2 boots1The victim, described as Hispanic or possibly Burmese (Asian/Pacific Islander). He is approximately 5′ tall, 110 lbs.  He has black hair and was wearing a light tan long sleeve button shirt, along with jeans that were almost white.  He was wearing a pair of Donaldo Boots pictured below.  The boots are very distinctive.  Kalamazoo Public Safety is asking for help in identifying this man.
