Kalamazoo, MI: A 57-year-old male was discovered dead this morning in the 200 block of N. Burdick. A passerby thought the man was just sleeping, but later realized he was no longer breathing. Public Safety Officers arrived on scene to find the man had been deceased for an extended period of time.
Public Safety Detectives along with Operations Division Officers worked together looking into the background of the deceased. At this time, the death is being ruled most likely natural causes. There were no signs of foul play. An autopsy will be completed, usually in 6-8 weeks.
The 57-year-old Kalamazoo resident has been identified as James David Murphy. No further information as to the cause of death will be released at this time. Kalamazoo Public Safety extends our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. James Murphy.
