Report a Crime

Welcome to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Online Citizen Reporting System.  Using this online citizen police report system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the police report for free.

You can use the following questions to decide whether you can use the online reporting system.

Is this an emergency? Call 911.
Do you want to submit an anonymous tip? Contact Kalamazoo Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
Did the incident occur outside the City of Kalamazoo? Call the law enforcement agency for that jurisdiction.
Did the incident occur on a state highway? Call 911 for an emergency or (269) 337-8994 for a non-emergency incident.
Do you know who committed the crime? Call 911 for an emergency or (269) 337-8994 for a non-emergency incident.
Does the incident involve lost, stolen or found firearms or prescription drugs? Call 911 for an emergency or (269) 337-8994 for a non-emergency incident.

If you answered 'no' to all of the questions, and if you wish to report one of the incident types below, you may file a report using this system.

Upon completion of this report process you will:

  • See the words: "Your online police report has been submitted" showing that your police report is complete.
  • Be given a police report case number.
  • Be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.

All cases filed using the Citizens Online Police Reporting System will be reviewed within five business days.

Filing a false police report is a crime (MCL 750.411a).
